MeSH oddity

Interesting MeSH term - Community Health Worker, used for the keyword barefoot doctor.  Does anyone out there actually search using the keyword barefoot doctor?

  1. Hi Kacy,

So excited about your blog! Thanks for sharing with the disastr-outreach-lib group. :) I stumbled upon this post while I was skimming through, and just thought I'd share what I know: that "barefoot doctors" were historically a whole class of medical professionals in China. I learned a little about them at NLM. And apparently there's a wikipedia entry, that mentions a link to WHO: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barefoot_doctor. Anyway, keep up the awesome work!
